Signature Brew at The Scotsbury Festival

Scotsbury Festival 2017

The Scottish Stores are having their very own one-day festival in the heart of King's Cross and Signature Brew will be there to quench your beer thirst!

Come and meet our brewers and enjoy some live music from Bryn Hoffman and Daniel Eagle. Plus there will be cask beers Signature Pale and Session Bitter available on tap alongside Roadie All-Night IPA and Studio Vienna on keg.

Bryn Hoffman:
Bryn sings and plays the guitar and blows the harp, often at the same time. When not alone he leads The Dusty Groove House Band. He used to front a rock and roll band called the Shoestrung. Bryn performs a menagerie of blues, country, folk and rock and roll songs and sometimes slips in his own compositions. He likes to sing for the sake of the song.

Daniel Eagle:
Daniel Eagle is a South Coast based Soul singer/songwriter currently touring the U.K. to promote his new album 'Stolen Blankets & Broken Beanbags'. Daniel's music style is inspired by artists such as James Brown, Stevie Wonder and John Butler.

Entry is FREE so click here for more info. See you at the bar!

NEW COLLABORATION BEER!

We have teamed up with punk duo Slaves to create our latest collaboration beer TAKE CONTROL - a 5% India Black Lager.

Signature Brew Slaves Take Control

Slaves have been laying waste to UK venues since first emerging in 2012. Their combination of punk urgency and humour have seen them rise to be one of the most socially relevant and must see acts in the country.

Taking the name from Slaves' 2016 album it nods to UK youth culture, the global political climate, and the irreverent, punk attitude that the band and brewery share. The beer dips it’s toes into the collective pool of many styles to create a light refreshing lager with a “mojito” lime character, a nod to it’s deep black colour and fresh hints of citrus.

Strongroom Tap Take Over!

Signature Brew Tap Take Over Strongroom

Strongroom has been a venue very close to our hearts. Apart from enjoying many booze filled evenings at this joint, it was in fact here where our founders got together and decided to do something about the state of beer in music venues, thus Signature Brew was born! Strongroom actually placed the very first Signature Brew order back in 2011! And we've been on their taps ever since.

To celebrate the tap take over, the venue itself and our friendship with these awesome guys, we've decided to have a Meet The Brewer tasting session on the Thursday where you will be able to try a range of beers listed below:

Anticipation Japanese Rice Beer

Backstage IPA

Black Vinyl Stout

Nice Time Tropical Pale Ale

Roadie All-Night IPA.....

Independent Venue Week 2017

Independent Venue Week 2017 The Skints at the Hope & Ruin

As the dust settles on another incredible Independent Venue Week, we at Signature Brew are returning to normality as well as reflecting on a great celebration of live music and for us, good beer.

Firstly, we’d just like to thank Sybil, Chloe and the team for their year round effort that makes IVW such a roaring success. It’s their vision and tireless work that gives so many great venues the chance to shine.

From us a huge thank you must also be extended to The Skints, whose support and commitment to our collaboration beer Nice Time was second to none and as the staff here will testify the three shows they played in Brighton, Kingston and Southampton were incredible. A 3.9% Tropical Pale Ale, Nice Time has flown out and the positive feedback we’ve received has been overwhelming.

The Skints at The Fighting Cocks for Independent Venue Week 2017

2017 was our second year as beer partner for IVW and it enabled us to continue our mission of getting good beer into the hands of deserving music fans. Never before have so many pints of Signature Brew beer been consumed at live music venues in such a short period of time. More and more venues are realising the value that offering good beer hugely improves gig goers’ experience and boosts the venues chances of retaining customers long before and after each gig. That said, we’re a long way from saying mission accomplished.

I’m told it’s important not to ramble, so we’ll end this here. It’s just left for one more thank you, to all those involved in the wonderful celebration that is Independent Venue Week 2017.

Cheers, Tom

IVW & Upcoming Events...

Signature Brew Independent Venue Week 2017

With Independent Venue Week just round the corner we thought we’d offer a gentle reminder of some of the incredible gig and events we’re hugely excited to be a part of over the next ten days. Check out the line-up below and come and show your support for independent venues at this great celebration of the grassroots music!

Independent Venue Week 2017 - Strongroom

Signature Brew Independent Venue Week 2017 Strongroom Bar and Kitchen

This week, in our second edition of blogs highlighting great independent venues in the run up to Independent Venue Week 2017 we’re focusing on a venue, bar and recording studios that means an awful lot to Signature Brew.

Strongroom Bar & Kitchen has been a cornerstone of the inimitable Shoreditch nightlife for as long as we can remember and has had a pretty key role in Signature Brews development too. In the pre-refurbed bar Tom, Sam and Dave held their first meeting to discuss their shared animosity towards the state of beer in music venues and there and then decided they should start a brewery. Soon after the first order came in, aptly from Strongrooms, and fast forward 5 years you can still find Roadie on the bar permanently.

The studios upstairs have been a staple in the world of music for 30 years, with legendary acts such as Radiohead, The Prodigy and even The Spice Girls recording there. Whilst big acts continue to roll off the tongue Strongrooms are also hugely passionate about supporting new music, with weekly live shows from brilliant fresh acts from all over the UK.

It’s been a pleasure watching the bar go from strength to strength over the years, in an increasingly cursory and perfunctory world it’s comforting knowing Strongrooms will maintain it’s quality with good music, good beer and good people at its heart.

Make sure to check out their events page and their Twitter for upcoming gigs, quizzes and open mic nights. And of course, the live acts for Independent Venue Week in January!

Independent Venue Week 2017 - The Black Heart

As you may know, we are the official beer partner for Independent Venue Week for the second year running. As Phil Selway from Radiohead once said, “Small venues are the lifeblood of British music.” and we couldn’t agree more, that’s why we’re so proud to be part of this important celebration for the music industry! Signature Brew are lucky enough to work with some of the best small venues in town, helping to bring forth our ethos. During the run up to IVW 2017 in January we will be taking a look into some of the awesome venues taking part. First up, a venue that’s always been good to Signature... The Black Heart!

Signature Brew Independent Venue Week 2017 The Black Heart

Nestled in a Camden backstreet The Black Heart plays host to some heavy bands, such as Bleeding Antlers, Pints and Raging Speedhorn, and at the same time have an incredible beer selection from all over the world. The Black Hearts’ steadfast approach to supporting up and coming bands and promoting small independent breweries is both commendable and important to the community.

You can find Signature Brew beers such as Stagediver and Studio Pilsner in the fridges and occasionally on draft. Overall it’s a pretty rad bar with great taste in beer and music! Head down to The Black Heart this evening to catch Al B. Damned from 7pm and make sure you keep an eye out for the live acts playing there for IVW 2017!
