]]>We will be serving beer exclusively on draught to all Rough Trade customers at the record label’s East London, Bristol, and Nottingham locations from *checks watch* now.
In case you didn't know (you should know), Rough Trade was founded on the doorstep of punk, West London, in 1976. They were the home for the DIY music movement, and quickly became one of the most important and influential places to discover exciting new music. Having relentlessly championed creative self-expression ever since, they have always remained true to their roots, being fiercely independent and unafraid to defy convention, with record stores located in London, Bristol, Nottingham and New York City.
Our full core range of beers will be available in all stores, Studio Lager, Roadie All-Night IPA, and Backstage IPA. Plus some extra special collaborations as well as seasonal beers in cans.
Speaking of the partnership, Sam McGregor, Founder of Signature Brew, said: "Rough Trade has always been an inspiration for Signature Brew, from their DIY roots and community-led approach to music, through to putting on incredible gigs in unusual spaces, and providing unforgettable experiences for fans and bands alike.
“The Signature Brew ethos could not be more aligned with Rough Trade's, so it is an honour for our beers to be pouring in all their incredible locations.
“It’s a perfect partnership and we're only just getting started - so expect incredible things!"
The partnership comes just weeks before Record Store Day, an event celebrated by independent stores and labels worldwide.
Thousands of vinyl enthusiasts are expected to visit Rough Trade stores on Record Store Day, and will have access to limited edition and exclusive records, live music shows along with plenty of our awesome beer.
Rough Trade customers can expect loads exciting things from the partnership in the coming months, like special gigs, exclusive merch, and a few collab beers here and there.
Emily Waller, UK Head of Brand and Content at Rough Trade, commented: "When looking for a beer partner, we wanted a brand that could deliver a holistic approach to working together.
“Not only does Signature Brew make first-class fresh beer, but they also invest heavily in music culture and take great pride in nurturing an inclusive and progressive creative community backed by a can-do attitude and a passion for doing things differently.
“We couldn't ask for a better partner to enhance our record store experience and we're excited by what we can achieve as we grow together."
For more information about the partnership hit us up on social, or join our mailing list here.
To celebrate this partnership we’re proud to be offering a discount across the entire Rough Trade webstore of 10%, running until 10th of April - so don’t wait around!

]]>On Saturday 30th July, Signature Brew Haggerston hosted The 900, the UK's top Tony Hawks Pro Skater cover band. But what we didn't expect was the actual Tony Hawk to turn up and make a surprise appearance.
]]>We were just as shocked as you were, and we're still surprised about it to this day. Shoutout to the man himself for being a legend, and shoutout to The 900 for putting on one heck of a show!

]]>On the night they will guide you through the food and beer combos, each course served with a perfectly matched beer.
Alongside the incredible food, expect to try Dogfish Head beers not available in the UK, limited edition Signature Brew beers, along with the latest DFHxSB collaboration beer Piercing Pils, a pear tea pilsner, all served up with plenty of beer based banter.
7x course menu by Paul Human - to be revealed on 21st of October...
" I’ve been privileged to taste some cracking beers in the run up to this event. I’m taking your tastebuds on a journey through pilsners, sours, IPAs, double IPAs and a couple of curveballs. Each beer carefully matched to 7 dishes I’ve created to excite and amuse your tastebuds!" Chef Paul Human
]]>Not only brewing an amazing beer together, but we’ve both chosen bands to play at the launch that reflect the two generations of craft beer that Dogfish Head & Signature Brew also represent.
Reppin’ DFH we’ve got legendary punk veterans The Mekons. Sonic adventurers, punk rock fundamentalists, exuberant luddites, willing outcasts, formed in the late 1970s as an art collective and one of the longest-running and most prolific of the first-wave British punk rock bands.
Bringing the noise for Signature Brew, it is alt-punk upstarts, Haggard Cat. equal parts laser-focussed energy and absolute chaos. They guarantee both ringing ears and chilled spines, and demand your full-immediate-attention.
Is that it? Of course not! Pre gig, we have a very special guest to host a panel discussion with our very own Sam & Tom, as well as Dogfish Head founder Sam Calagione, alongside musicians Jon Langford and Matt Reynolds. Chatting through how the craft brewing movement and the punk movement histories are forever intertwined.
After the dust has settled on the gig, on Sunday the 30th, we will be co-hosting a beer dinner with Sam Calagione and the DFH Team at The Collab with Paul Human cooking up a storm to go alongside 3x DFH beers, 3x SB beers, and of course celebrating the collab beer itself.

We caught some incredible sets across the weekend, from Tru Thoughts takeover at Cafe 1001, to Fedah at Werkhaus. Binker Golding at Ninety One Living Room to friend of the brewery, Jay Phelps and his legendary trumpet DJ set. What a weekend!
Who caught us for a pint?

]]>So although things might feel a bit up in the air right now, do believe us when we say there's light at the end of the tunnel, and there's plenty of good times ahead of us in 2022.
Without further ado, take a look at some of the things we're excited about for this year.
---
2021 saw us collaborate with the likes of Hot Chip, our good friends from The Darkness (again), Hospital Records, and so many other amazing musicians on our Pilot Kit such as The Wytches, Big Joanie, Pigs x 7, Yonaka, Delta Sleep, Tellison - Off Menu's Ed Gamble - and even with various members of the Signature Brew family. Records were made to be broken, so we can't wait to knock it out the park with more band collaborations than ever before in 2022. Watch this space.
Last year also saw the triumphant return of live music and festivals up and down the country, and we were lucky enough to attend a fair few! Not only did we host our own stage at Bigfoot Festival in 2021, but we also poured our beers at Krankbrother festivals, Wide Awake, Mightyhoopla, Hospitality In The Woods and so many more. Here's to seeing you at more festivals in the UK this year.
And with the return of live music in 2021, we managed to host over 40 different shows at our venues Signature Brew Blackhorse Road and Signature Brew Haggerston, including Dialled In Festival, The Skints, Puppy, Hacktivist, various comedy lineups with Tim Key, Phil Wang, Josie Long, a legendary BBQ cook off with Dingley Dell and so much more.
When we first opened our state-of-the-art brewery in Walthamstow, it was always the goal to brew beer by day and transform it into a fully-functioning music venue by night.
So, towards the end of 2021, and with the help of our partners at d&b Audiotechnik and Cantebury Sound Projects, we installed a brand new PA system so our gigs will sound louder and better than ever. Throw in some amps and mics provided by Orange and Shure, you've got yourself a full-blown live show. Keep your eyes peeled on our events listings for shows in 2022, and we'll see you at a few of them for some great beer and great music.
Elsewhere, we've been super busy behind the scenes with our friends over at Trader Wembley and we're excited to be bringing our beers to a brand new business park opening in Wembley in 2022, featuring the likes of Perky Blenders, Wings and Tings, Chaii & Spice, Baggio Burger, Dukan 41 and so much more. Plus, we're also launching a new space of our own over at Signature Brew Blackhorse Road, so keep your eyes peeled on our socials for more info on this in the coming weeks...
And last but by no means least, we're excited to be bringing you your ticket to 2022 at Signature Brew Haggerston. Over the last few weeks, we have been announcing a HUGE run of shows in January and February showcasing everything we’re about when it comes to live shows. Championing new and emerging artists to fill the gloomier months of the year with music, Signature Brew Haggerston will be hosting gigs for just £5 a ticket. Better still, if you love live music, we’ve got you covered. The All Access Pass is here for you.
For just £25, the All Access Pass gets you on the list for every single show in the run with a few extra perks along the way. Pick up yours now to get full access to shows such as Charlotte Campbell; SARE + Diseek, an7; Lazy Day + Prima Queen; Dexy + The Blue Highways; The Travis Waltons + Fightmilk; PARKAS + The Kobras; Kit Trigg + Rival Karma, and more announced over on Signature Brew Haggerston's Instagram page.
That's just some of the things we're looking forward to in 2022, and even we're excited at the prospect of what's still to come. So, time for a beer?
Shop all our beers here.
]]>As you can imagine, being a brewery that specialises in beer and music, and as we saw our team grow in size throughout 2021, there's certainly some eclectic playlists, albums and artists that are put on the speakers around the building.
Not only that, but 2021 saw the triumphant return of live music, and we were even able to host some shows of our own, as well as go to musical festivals up and down the country.
So, without further ado, take a look at Signature Brew's top albums of 2021.
Released back in April - the calm before the storm of the Euros, festivals, and live music being back in full force - Field Music’s ‘Flat White Moon’ came at what felt like just the right time. Packed from start to finish with delicious melodies and simplistic, yet comforting, vocals and lyrics - pop this album on for a guaranteed nice time.
This long-awaited third full-length album from The JB Conspiracy dropped in 2021, with the launch party being held at Signature Brew Haggerston. From the early 2000s ska and punk scene, this band has been leading the genre for over 10 years, this record again pushes things in a new and fresh direction. Also, if their trombonist is ever on holiday / off sick / incarcerated, you might catch me on stage dropping some of their legendary horn riffs.
Immersive, expressive and vivid, this record by progressive Polish jazz violinist, Adam Baldych, and Italian trumpeter, Paolo Fresu, feels like the soundtrack to a Nordic noir series that doesn’t exist. Highbrow? Sure, but I’d be kidding if I said it wasn’t a toss up between this and Limp Bizkit Still Sucks. Shout out to Wes Borland’s fresh riffs.
The singles had been on heavy rotation in the office as we eagerly anticipated the album dropping, and it did not disappoint! I don't think I’ve ever booked tickets to a show faster, and the memory of screaming “now it’s a holiday!” whilst driving around the Yorkshire dales was a highlight of the year. Reminds me of when I first heard (and fell in love with) Comeback Kid.
A classic example of SoCal stoner rock to vibe to whilst cracking open a cold can of backstage, before attempting to drop into a half pipe and taking a gnarly slam and breaking a hand. Best song is Mongoose. One of the ultimate feeling awesome songs.
Such a great mix of blisteringly heavy sounds with the catchiest choruses they've done yet.
MF Doom’s swan song, may he rest in peace.
This album was worth the 12 year wait, genre bending, melodic and thoughtful, building to a righteous crescendo. A perfect album to pump through our mega sound system once the kitchen has closed!
The 10th studio album by post-rock band Mogwai, As The Love Continues, kept me chill and sane throughout studying for my accountancy qualification - so I owe a lot to this album. Mercury nominated too! Things we love to see.
Noisy, grungy & melodic. This EP is back to back tunes! These guys have burst onto the live scene this year & are absolutely smashing it. I just can't wait to see what they do next.
Fresh have become one of my favourite new bands. They are amazing live and just lovely people!
Just when you thought IDLES had given us everything releasing 3 albums back to back across 4 years, they just went and dropped another one anyway, and rest assured it’s still filled with the same great crunch you’d find in their back catalogue. Their most introspective - but most fun album to date. New Sensation is the dancefloor banger of 2022.
Coming across a post-punk band producing an album you can comfortably listen to at home and see live in a sweaty venue getting elbowed in the face repeatedly is a rare one, but Viagra Boys managed it again with Welfare Jazz. Loving their ever so raunchy vibe and added sax for maximum chaos. RIP Benjamin Valle.
Annie Clark oozing 70s glam and channelling her inner bowie. Absolutely top record.
Some bands can lose their edge with success; with Wolf Alice though that edge has only sharpened. At times, their third record sounds as intimate and as when their shows were, whilst some tracks are as grandiose and anthemic as they've proven time and time again to be. Both of these elements can be found in the first 150 seconds of The Beach as Wolf Alice set out their stall for world domination once again and when they hit the road in 2022, they'll inevitably reach that goal with their balance of huge riffs fighting constantly against their romanticism and personal story-telling.
I listen to this album at least once a day, in it’s entirety, from start to finish, and have yet to find a song that I don’t enjoy. The production is brilliant and discovering something new in each track, whether it be small nuances in the music itself or new meaning to words you’ve listened to over an over, ensures the album never gets boring! Doja Cat managed to get huge exposure through some of her tracks going viral on TikTok, but this hasn’t stopped the album becoming enormously successful in its own right. A lot of people argue that Doja Cat's music reflects the things that people think but rarely say out loud, and I really believe this is true with this album, and only goes to make you feel closer to the artist herself. It’s definitely album of the year for me and I can’t wait to see what she does next!
Sometimes I Might Be Introvert is music for the soul. Its vulnerability, passion and poetry has been the perfect combination to end 2021 and encourage artistic growth.
I love the realness & vulnerabilities of so many of Dave’s lines mixing in with tunes like ‘System’. The features go hard - love how well James Blake and Dave complement each other, and Fredo, Meekz, Giggs, Ghetts all kill it on ‘In The Fire’.
Mario Duplantier is one of my favourite drummers and they’ve been nominated for many awards this year. They are activists for protesting whale killing, global warming and other such political things. Their vocalist Joe has insane energy on stage, and their bassist reminds me of a metal version of Flea from RHCP with his energy. Their pick scrapes and galloping strumming patterns give them their unique sound. Live performances seen on youtube are studio quality both vocally and instrumentally.
One of the fiercest albums to come out of 2021 and one of my favourite discoveries of the year, I’ll never forget Bob Vylan absolutely killing it on our stage at Bigfoot Festival after a long, long time without live music. Simply put, this album fucking slaps, and so does the band.
One of my most-anticipated albums of the year was finally released and it didn’t disappoint. At just 6 tracks short, this album is nothing but Black Country’s best, with all the excess of a regular album trimmed off. Tune in for iconic lyrics such as ‘Welcome to the best new 6-part Danish crime drama’ and ‘It's a one size fits all hardcore cyber fetish early noughties zine / She sells matcha shots to pay for printing costs and a PR team’, Klezmer-inspired dance tracks, and more!
On Wednesday 8th December, our friends from Delta Sleep played a sold out show at Signature Brew Blackhorse Road to celebrate the release of their latest album, Spring Island.

Collaboration is at the heart of what we do at Signature Brew. Granted it’s usually collaborating with musicians, but we also care deeply about the environment.
]]>When our friends at Toast Ale invited us to be part of this incredible collaboration - together with breweries across the country including Adnams, Guiness, Meantime, Brixton and more - with a chance to make a clear statement that our planet can and should be saved… we were in.
So, we signed an open letter to world leaders meeting at COP26, calling for co-operation to protect people and nature from the effects of the global climate crisis, and brewed a delicious toasted lager, made with surplus bread to remove food waste and as part of the Toast Companion series.
The letter urges leaders to seize the ‘once in a lifetime opportunity to protect people and nature from the effects of the global climate crisis.’ It highlights reducing food waste as a key measure in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and deforestation, citing evidence that food systems are responsible for one-third of GHG emissions and 80% of deforestation.
Alongside the open letter, each participating brewery brewed a new beer for the Companion Series, a limited-edition collection of beers that used surplus bread that would otherwise have gone to waste. Toast Ale, who coordinated the series and letter, has been brewing with bread since the company was founded in 2015. They also supplied pre-prepared surplus crumb and shared expertise with the fellow breweries to support the circular economy at this critical time.
£26 from every case sold is donated to preserve and regenerate nature: Protecting 3.25 million trees in threatened tropical rainforests with Rain Forest Trust UK and supporting UK farmers to restore soil health with Soil Heroes capturing 360 tonnes of CO2, holding more water & improving biodiversity.
This mouthwateringly malty beer was brewed with our friends at Toast Ale as part of their charity COP26 series. Love beer, love the planet.
Heavy on roasted malt flavour with a strong bitterness, lingering Toffee notes and subtle breadiness (surprise surprise) and a hint of smoke.
20% of the malt base included reclaimed bread crumb, attributing to toasty, bready flavours, a small addition of crystal malt and a portion of Vienna base malt give it a roasty character and its amber hue.
ABV: 4.8%
OG: 1.049
IBU: 45
]]>Audiences were treated to a special one-off collaboration between Auntie Flo and Sarathy Korwar (as Rathisa) who premiered their recent collaborative work in an intimate setting, alongside Ninja Tune-signee Nabihah Iqbal’s singular version of shoegaze guitar-heavy instrumentation sat neatly against rock acts including Scottish-Indian award-winning artist Kapil Seshasayee and punk legend Nadia Javed.
The DJs throughout the event also took us on an exploration of genres. Former Boiler Room presenter Ahadadream brought his taste in percussive club music while Apple Music presenter NAINA raised the temperature with her signature 160 BPM sound. Acts like Manuka Honey, Debonair, Anu and Arthi showcased their broad range of tastes, showing yet again how hard it is to box in South Asian DJs.
It was truly one for the history books, and something we can't wait to do again.
